As a teenager Nina was late to flower and certainly not academically inclined. Shy and starved of at High School, Nina did not fare well in competition for the attention of the boys. Nonetheless, her early social struggles hid great athletic and artistic talent, and Nina ran track at High school and actively participated in the theatre and the arts, dreaming of a career as a forensic scientist. Unsurprisingly she dropped out of school at a young age and took up employment as a cashier at Denny's and Office Max. Nina worked all over Texas including Austin, Houston, and Lubbock, before seeking inspiration as a book keeper with Barnes and Noble in Dallas. |
Nina's fortunes took an upward turn when she began work as a bar tender aged 16, and from this social platform she soon found work the world of modeling as a Budweiser swimsuit model and Tejano calendar girl. At the age of 17, after a variety of modelling jobs, Nina saw an advertisement in the paper for models which turned out to be the Heartbreakers’ Cabaret Club. After three years there as a dancer, Nina moved on to the upmarket Palace Men's Club, where her stunning figure caught the eye of the industry's leading magazines.
Nina's first shoot was with Penthouse in June 2000, and soon Nina discovered that she loved being center stage and the creative self-expression this afforded her. With the help of her agent and her friends Vannessa Young and Dana Leigh, her career as a feature entertainer and pageant model soon advanced. Her first title was as Miss Southern Louisiana, and in little time she went on to win many more lucrative contests including Miss Nude Universe, Miss Nude International, and Entertainer of the Year. Nina was soon signed by the world's top adult film company Vivid as one of their exclusive contract girls. Since reaching that professional summit the accolades have continued to roll in.
Voted Exotic Dancer magazine's ‘Adult Performer of the Year’ twice in succession, and nominated as Starlet of the Year by AVN, Nina has become the only feature entertainer to have won four major awards in one calendar year. Her legendary curves have graced the cover of every major Men's magazine, including Penthouse, Hustler, Club International, Fox, Gent, Score, Cheri, D-cup, Playtime, Xcitement, Exotic Dancer Directory, the AVN Magazine and even Muscular Development. As an accomplished adult actress Nina has appeared in the Fox Monday night series Skin, and was featured on the Anna Nicole Smith show and on prime time Playboy TV. Her rise to stardom has proven so meteoric that earlier this year Nina decided to become fully independent, leaving her beloved Vivid for a cascade of exclusive contracts.
Nina has been a feature entertainer for some 5 years, and openly asserts that she has loved every minute of it. A friendly and sociable lady, on tour Nina attracts as many friends and admirers as any top rock star. Far from becoming shy and reclusive after achieving her fame and fortune, Nina is devoted to her fans and religiously answers their questions and maintains her blog.
Being multi-talented, Nina has cultivated many hobbies and interests, and adores her creature comforts and marquis brands such as Bathalina and Victoria Secret. Nina is an avid reader of many of the fitness magazines in which she has appeared, including Muscle Mag, Muscular Development, and Muscle & Fitness. As might seem appropriate, Nina is a self-proclaimed "health food junkie", although she is especially fond of good sushi from Los Angeles.
Coming from Texas, Nina loves pick-ups, especially Ford Sport Traks, Escalades and Hummers, although being a shrewd lady of taste and means she prefers to drive her BMW Z3. Her favourite band is The Cult, and she idolises lead singer Ian Astbury. Her perfect man might be a fusion of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matthew Maconahay, Sylvester Stallone, Vin Diesel, the Rock and John Cena. The genetic engineers will clearly have their work cut out to please her.
How did you start out as a model?
I started out as a Budweiser model in Texas. When i was like 18 years old it was a lot of fun!
Do you believe that the prominence of models in society gives them special influence?
Yes I believe anyone who is in the spotlight influences someone.
What is your favorite color, and do you think color can influence your mood?
Red is my favorite color and yes it influences my mood, if I am wearing it i feel fiery, and if I get roses it creates a sweet mood for me and when I get mad i see red! LOL
How do you stay in shape?
I work out a lot. I do free weights in the gym, rollerblading uphill, and I like Tae Bo.
What star sign are you? Have there been any events that have convinced you to believe in astrology?
I am a Scorpio, I believe in astrology and things of that nature. I have a guy who reads my cards and he will tell me things to come and it always happens - he keeps my aura positive.
What are your favourite travel destinations?
I went to Cancun I loved it there. I am getting my PADI scuba diving certification soon because I want to go to Belize this summer! I love going to beautiful warm places.
What is your greatest career ambition?
To make money and be a good role model to people in the industry. I want to always put out a good product.
This is Nina's first year as a free agent and her order book is overflowing as far as the horizon. Demure, beautiful, athletic and captivating, Nina Mercedez has become a global celebrity within an industry that could not be more competitive. Now only just entering the prime of her life, it is difficult to imagine how this vivacious and energetic young starlet will be refused Hollywood's red carpet.
